Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) is the peak body for Victoria’s tourism and events industry. VTIC provides leadership for Victoria’s tourism and events industry through ‘One Voice’ advocacy and representation, and provides business development services and networking opportunities to members. VTIC stands for and works to support a professional, sustainable and globally competitive tourism industry in Victoria. To this end, VTIC’s advocacy activities aim to improve the operating environment for industry and make it easier for tourism and events businesses to deliver high quality experiences and products to all visitors. We actively lobby all levels of government to ensure tourism in Victoria receives the attention and support it deserves.
VTIC is a powerful ally for tourism and events businesses at all levels, from B&Bs to major attractions, event facilities or tourism infrastructure providers. Six carefully developed policy committees representing key sectors of the tourism & events industry underpin VTIC’s structure. These are: Accommodation, Attractions, Destinations, Aevents, Tourism Services and Hospitality, and Tour and Transport.
The tourism and events industry is one of Victoria’s major employers and creates significant wealth for communities, regions and Victoria as a whole. In challenging times when governments at a local, state and federal level are faced with competing demands on their resources, it is vital that the industry has a considered and concerted voice. VTIC represents this unifying voice. We work as a respected advocate, supporter of industry and a partner of your business to help you effectively manage your team of tourism professionals.
